The White Hair.
At the start of the series, Kaneki's hair is dark brown, except in the OP, where it we see an image of him with white hair. In episode 11, we see a final scene of Kaneki, his hair having turned white. This turns out to be a preview of things to come, his hair being brown at the start of episode 12. However, during episode 12, we see a scene, theoretically taking place in Kaneki's mind, or as a hallucination, wherein his hair fades from brown to white. The sudden change from our beloved main protagonist Kaneki Ken was a shock to the anime fandom, he turned from a nice empathic child to a ghoul eating monster. But why did he turn out the way he ls now. today we are diving deeper in what has caused the sudden change into the characters personality and why he has some new characteristics aswel with a new set of black nails.
One Thousand Minus Seven.
Sui Ishida the genius behind Tokyo Ghoul, seems to have a genuine interest in the human body and how best to alter it to fit the storyline. This leads to the existence of ghouls seeming plausible with the mention of red blood cell levels and the mysterious organ kakuhou. As most biological beings experience diseases through their environment, Sui Ishida uses the core concepts of the human anatomy and combines them with far off medical theories to create his own diseases for the storyline. What I’m getting to is that nearly all physical and biological changes that occur in the Tokyo Ghoul universe can be very loosely explained with today’s scientific knowledge and unscripted medical accounts.
But why did kaneki had to count down from 1000 minus 7 everytime? there are 2 major reasons for that which we will explain, First one being so that Kaneki doesn't go insane To keep him mentally aware so that he constantly feels pain instead of trying to ignore it. By keeping him mentally engaged it prevents Kaneki from ignoring the constant pain cycle (although he later goes on to say that it helped him keep his mind on something else besides the pain - linking back to bullet 1, keeping him sane) At the moment Sui Ishida, hasn’t officially stated the reason for his hair change though he has hinted at a few theories…
Intense torture on Kaneki his body and mental state.
His change in hair color is probably due to Marie Antoinette syndrome, a rare condition that causes the hair to suddenly become white in response to some great stress or shock. It's so named because Marie Antoinette's hair supposedly turned white after she was captured during the French Revolution. Kaneki’s hair color change from black to white was initially attributed to Marie Antoinette Syndrome.
The premise being the hair of Queen Marie Antoinette of France turned white after her capture during the French Revolution. Witnesses alleged that Antoinette's hair suddenly turned white due to the extreme stress she was led through during her capture and eventual death. Though no factual evidence exists other than witness recollection, Marie Antoinette Syndrome has gained traction due its portrayal has a side effect to over stress in today’s world. Noting that Kaneki was tortured relentlessly, two or three times every day for over ten days, the stress from this incident is generally shown to be the reason for his color change.
Personality change and the mental disturbance
After defeating Yakumo Oomori, Kaneki decides to leave the anteiku crew and join the other ghouls instead. he has became a fighter, the kind and good hearthed kid who was thrown into a scary and mysterious world as a one eyed ghoul( which is a rare sympton aswel) is now one of the strongest ghouls. honestly, i can't wait for the next season to start because things are going to get down. just like how jason went down when kaneki ate him alive. another theory about his black nails, is that because kaneki has quick regeneration the nails are not actually black but dark reddish blood coloured, because jason kept pulling them of(ouch!) so what can we expect in season 3 of tokyo ghoul?
Tokyo ghoul Season 3 Confirmed!
The ending of season 2 was a major cliffhanger to the anime fandom, Kaneki ken facing Amon, while the viewers both know they are actually good from the inside. the circumstances they both went through throughout the story of the anime made them change. their personalities changed. the way they looked at eachother, (humans towards ghouls and vice versa) everything was flipped into a bad situation where the 2 would face. even though they met a few chapters ago when they where both not on the point of destroying the opposing faction.
They never had that conversation that could have made a good ending. But because that talk never happened we are getting a new season! The anime Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 release date has officially been confirmed by manga creator Sui Ishida and multiple promotions to be in the spring of 2018. In addition, it is confirmed that this anime adaptation will be based on the Tokyo Ghoul: re manga and it will not be a reboot of the anime story. They have already released an anime Tokyo Ghoul: re trailer video for fans to check out.
The plot for the first two seasons of the anime was based on scripts written by Chuji Mikasano at Studio Pierrot. Many fans of the manga were not happy at all with Tokyo Ghoul: Root A because the anime version had Ken Kaneki joining the Aogiri Tree ghoul organization rather than form his own group to protect his friends. There were also many details left out that led to plot developments in the Tokyo Ghoul: re story.
The Tokyo Ghoul: re trailer video does show that Kaneki voice actor Natsuki Hanae is returning as the lead. Studio Pierrot has also announced the new staff for the third season i can't wait to watch the new anime adaption. thanks for reading this blog we will dive into more information about season 3 in the next blog!
